Yes, good sir or madam! Like you, your textile goods need a good grooming every now and then.
The longer you have fabrics, the higher the chances of their fibers becoming loose and uneven are. Not only can this make them look less appealing, but it can also make them rough to the touch. If you want to feel relaxed when sitting down, or soothed while laying down, then you must invest in lint scrapers and/or lint shavers.
A lint shaver is a small, handheld, electronic device that uses a rotating disk with blades attached to it to cut loose fibers and suck them into the itself using centrifugal force. It works like a weed eater mixed with a vacuum. It can be found in the laundry section of most retail stores. I can personally testify for the usefulness of this gadget. It is great for much more than just laundry. Try it on chairs, couches, rugs, placemats, and the like!
Note: Pushing the device down on thinner fabrics can result in it cutting them open. Hover, do not cover.
A good companion tool for the lint shaver is the fabric or lint brush/comb. This tool can be used in much the same way as one would use a razor on their facial and/or leg hair. You simply place the shiny metal end of the scraper slightly above your fabric of choice and slowly pull it it backwards. Loose fibers will be moved back with the scraper along with dust and debris that the uneven threads trapped against the fabric. It is particularly useful at removing pills.

Fabric tufts can make textiles warmer through insulation, which is something that you do not want for sheets.

Note: The scraper can pull threads out of shirts and other thinner fabrics if held too close them while in use.
Do you want your clothes to be softer? Do you want your sheets to not feel like sandpaper when you lie beneath them? Then give them a good grooming from time to time.
